Posted by toen on Sep 21, '07 11:46 PM for everyone looks good: - it’s thin & light - just right for a smart phone :) fit comfortably in our palm. - has QWERTY button, I think that would be convenience to keyed in a lot of texts. Although some people said that’s like a calculator. Sometimes I would too lazy to pull out the stylus. - use windows mobile 5 - smartphone. By default supported by any Windows application. I can't install any program freely in office’s computers. - Support 3 GSM bands & 3.5G/HSDPA. - Has WIFI connection. - Reasonable price (3.8 mio). - has good rate in www.gsmarena.com looks bad: - camera only 1.3 mega pixel. No flash. - screen is not so big - but i can still live with that. - Windows mobile 5 only have viewer program for MS Office documents. Note taking only possible by using notepad & no spreadsheet. I don’t know if there is freeware application to edit MS Office documents in windows mobile 5 or can I install Office Mobile. not sure: - It has no touchscreen. Navigating it’s menu by using menu scroll bar & 5-way-navigation button. That quite easy - I had tried it in the last couple months mobile phone exhibition in JHCC. Not sure how we can browse a page in IE with this navigation options. Considering as well - Motorola Q (nice design but no WIFI) - Sony Ericsson P600 (no WIFI) or P1 (too expensive - 5mio), both using SYMBIAN (have to install it’s own program). - Dopod c720w (too big like blackberry) - Treo 700 (too expensive about 5mio & bit bulky. But it’s already a PDA phone - use Win Pocket PC). - Ipaq 6515 (expensive & bulky) Any better options? what Smartphone is in your wish list?
Posted by toen on Sep 21, '07 11:28 PM for everyone Firefox browser has been downloaded by 400 million people. So there must be something. Haven't use Firefox maybe it's the time? Anyway I just like their new promo banner .. -who can resist this- cute fox :). It's called foxkeh! It's born in Japan (site) to help promote and deploy Mozilla products in Japan (wiki). Foxkeh name combines the English word "fox" with the suffix "suke" (すけ; 助, 輔, 介) found in some Japanese male names. Get foxkeh wallpaper as well from their site :).
Posted by toen on Sep 3, '07 2:55 AM for everyone  (From their help file) Post2Blog is a desktop blogging client that provides the easy way to compose and add new posts (even if you are offline), helps to manage and edit existing posts in your blogs. - Built-in "Live" spell checking (check screenshot);
- "Portable Mode" support (check instruction);
- Images are uploaded automatically (supported uploading types: Flickr (see example), file area of your blog, imageshack.us, picturelli.com, custom FTP server);
- Post text and/or images from Firefox or Internet Explorer to your blog with 2 clicks only using plugins for Firefox (check example) and Internet Explorer (check example);
- Compose new posts in MS Word and post them to your blog using Post2Blog toolbar for MS Word;
- Integration with RSS Bandit (rssbandit.org) and Sharp Reader (sharpreader.net) - you can post selected items from these RSS readers using Post2Blog plugin;
- Post files, images, documents from Explorer or any other program using "Send To -> Post2Blog" command;
- Add Technorati, Del.icio.us, Buzzwords, 43 Things tags to your posts;
- Automatically send trackbacks, ping web-services to notify about updates in your blogs;
- Earn money using "Insert Amazon Link" feature;
- Use built-in smiles for use in your blog;
- Website ( here) - portable version ( here) Reason for me: - an offline blog editor, - a portable one and - has visual HTML rich-text editor (as if I draft in MS Word (and use their formatting) it wont copy-paste nicely in Multiply). Yes I can use in MS Frontpage or NVU. But Blog2Post is just light (quick to load) & portable. A bit disappointment is that some keyboard shortcut is not as same as MS Office. I dont really use the other features.
Posted by toen on Aug 28, '07 8:21 AM for everyone NUMBER is part of iWork, an office suite from apple and NUMBER is the name of it's spreadsheet application. In excel we have one spreadsheet as one tab. In NUMBER we have one working area and we can put many tables in there. It's like sticking a post-it in your working area, but they act as a table/spreadsheet. That's cool!
I work a lot with MS Onenote (do similar thing but for text) and wishing to have this feature in there. There are also tables in Onenote but have very limited features. Official site (http://www.apple.com/iwork/numbers/) screen shot (here)
Posted by toen on Jun 29, '07 3:29 AM for everyone Finally, Portable Firefox 2 is ready. A pop up window appear telling this upgrade when I was reading my Google Reader. But when I check from portableapps.com
actually it's been there since 31 May, miss a month then ... HAH who cares.. trying a new one. Why portable? I can use it anywhere, weakness? Take longer time to open the application.
Posted by toen on Jun 28, '07 11:11 PM for everyone reduce & control your ’byte’ consumption with firefox’s extension Browsing from home using some certain services (like speedy - volume base) will charge us by byte that being consumed/loaded. These are the extensions that I use to reduce & control bytes & see more within your volume quota. Would like to hear yours :) Flashblock. Many ads appear as flash image & give bigger size that regular image. This extension replace flash objects with a button that you can click to show the flash if you like. It’s appear in on the toolbar as well, click it to switch it on/off as default. ImgLikeOpera. Similar to flashblock but for images. It’s appear in as an icon in the status bar. You can define the default setting or make exception for certain sites. You can also use right click menu to load image one by one as you like. Useful shortcut, ctrl+[right click] to open certain image that you want. Adblock. Give better ads filter from web-pages. Browser Statistics. Appear in status bar. In fact it take about 20% of toolbar’s space. It show size of data loaded (in Kb or Mb) from a page, total loaded since last run, total loaded since installation (this one less useful for me). Speedy also provide a tool to monitor your byte loaded. TimeTracker. show you long you had been online. Browsing is fun, sometimes we forget how long we had been online.
Posted by toen on Jun 15, '07 6:47 AM for everyone UMPC. Useful links:

Posted by toen on May 14, '07 8:23 AM for everyone I dont know excatly when it become available. Previously we can mark a place just as a rectangle. Now we can edit the rectangle & reshape as free polygon. How to do that? Add a new place (you cannot edit a place calready created by someone else) Put some description as required. Save. Edit the mark; go to menu & select resize polygon. I think when we add a new place then we can resize the polygon directly, that more intuitive. Sample: RAGUNAN Zoo, hover your mouse to see the polygon ( here). About Wikimapia.

Posted by toen on Apr 8, '07 7:54 AM for everyone - Check & set boot sequence of your computer, make CD drive goes first - get live cd (dvd) of Linux Ubuntu or other Linux distro/variant (e.g. knoppix) - Simply insert the CD/DVD and restart your computer - start using Linux :) ... without affecting your current system
- When I try Ubuntu, it works ok. Connect to internet via speedy also work. - When I try Knoppix, I can only get screen resolution of 400x600, seem that the hardware is not detected properly.
A bit goes further I got and follow instruction to install damn-small-linux in my USB. I could get resolution of 1024-768 but color depth only for 256 :(. Would like to have any good Linux in my 1GB USB. Anybody know how?

Posted by toen on Apr 4, '07 2:56 AM for everyone Helping my sis looking for a new mobifon.
- Both has triple band, 1.3mp camera, 256k color, below 1.5mio.
- KG200 has MP3 player, micro SD slot, radio (lovely to have all this music stuff).
- K510 have blue tooth, infra red, email, IM, more contact, longer battery (more feature but less useful).
Tends to choose LG. BTW this site had detail specification of most GSM handset (http://www.gsmarena.com).

Posted by toen on Apr 3, '07 6:06 AM for everyone Finally I can try opera portable. Quite a nice application. Like: the button, zooming, etc. Don't like: error with the new y!mail, no tabs on full screen.
Posted by toen on Apr 3, '07 6:04 AM for everyone Some features, just found in excel 2003 … sweet :) - change sheet tab color. - change gridlines color. - search base on format (e.g. only cell in bold).

Shortcut Google reader lainnya.
- j/k: next/previous item
- space/ + space: next/previous item or page
- n/p: scan down/up (list only)
- o/enter: expand/collapse (list only)
- s: star item
- + s: share item
- v: view original
- t: tag item
- m: mark item as read
- r: refresh
- u: toggle full screen mode
- + a: mark all as read
- 1: switch to expanded view
- 2: switch to list view
- + n/p: next/previous subscription
- + x: expand folder
- + o: open subscription or folder
- g then h: go home
- g then a: go to all items
- g then s: go to starred items
- g then t: open tag selector
- g then u: open subscription selector

I though how much different it could be from other … MP3 video player, phone, camera, internet access from one device. They are a lot of smart phone or pda-phone available at this moment with all those features. But one thing that apple has is a very intuitive device.
- 3.5” touch screen, high resolution
- one button (only) at the front
- and no stylus at all! You only have to use your (own) finger.
- Smart brightness & orientation sensor (landscape – portrait)
That really makes other device looks old (in term of interface). Enough talk; watch it (compilation from apple.com). The white moving circle is representing your finger :P. Or watch this for better narrated video by Jobs himself [here].
Posted by toen on Dec 18, '06 1:06 AM for everyone Handset CDMA terbaru dari Samsung. (walau posternya gaka aneh, orang ndaki tebing gunung es pake celana & kaos pendek) Fitur secara umum: CDMA 2000-1x (single band 800Mhz), 65K color, RUIM card, VGA Camera (+video recorder), MP3 Player, external memory (Micro SD), FM Radio, Speakerphone, 1000 phonebook, WAP2.0, SOS function, PIM (calendar, notes, alarm, countdown, worldtime). Pro: nice appearance, RUIM card, kamera + video, FM radio, MP3 player, external memory, handsfree provided. (love it), 'ga usah beli lagi :D. Tampilannya sendiri cukup elegan dengan warna dasar hitam di tambah frame & back cover silver titanium (love it). Display. Seperti membaca dengan font sans-serif/ MS dialog di monitor 1024, what a waste. Menu. Ada 9 menu utama. Struktur hirarki nya sendiri sebetulnya cukup simple. Camera. Walaupun hanya VGA tapi cukup banyak option yang ditawarkan selain mode (single shot, serial shot, divided shot, video, postcard) size & quality, white balance (auto, daylight, cloudy, incadescent, flourescent, timer), effect (none, mono, sepia, negative, emboss, sketch, some frame, guidelines (3 boxes rule), save target, zoom 4x. Qualitas, belum sempet donwload. FM Radio. Suara lumayan bersih.

 - Masangnya gimana:
- kita harus install greasemonkey-nya dulu (source).
- Kita pasang script untuk suatu site. Ada beberapa situs yang
menyediakan script untuk greasemonkey diantaranya (Kalo mau bikin sendiri
juga bisa sih) (ada disini
juga)
- Script yang aku pasang:
- Google Reader Optimized (optimizing spaces)
- Gmail Inbox with New Style (more calm color)
- Gmail Save Search (define, save & use your search easily, really love
it!)
- del.icio.us Prettier
Ada yang tau script lainnya yang menarik?

 It’s a busy day when all people with multiply got to learn new things and
to say something
about it.
Techcrunch already make a review about this, comparing Multiply 3.0 with
AOL, VOX. 1 – 0 for Multiply.
Why they called it MP 3.0. maybe related to the new ‘term’ web
3.0, which came from last web 2.0
conference. Eris
Ristemena had a blog about this web 3.0.
I am with MP yesterday afternoon and watch thing change bit by
bit.
- When format in FF is different with IE, but soon get fixed.
- My MP without ad banner (of course I prefer this one)
- I don’t see my profile got disappear, but seems many people notice
this.
Most things that people don’t like
about MP 3.0, are:
- Missing Profile. Even tough I didn't see it, but they put it back
now. yes, I would prefer to keep that as well, at least I want to know where
people are come from.
- Adult ads. I don’t see this either. I can still accept ads banner
in My Multipy page. Hope it stop there. Many site even worse. Luckily it is
not in our own personal site (only with My Multiply page). Other blog provider
even put more ads inside.
- They have to learn the new feature. “I
hate MP 3.0. I don’t know how to …”. Is it not fair to hate a new
thing, just because you don’t know the how-to. If you don’t the how-to then
you may hate it.
But they are more on MP 3.0
- My Multiply
- Is collaboration of previous Multiply Home, Multiply
Explore & Post. All in one place. Even post type already
differentiated, we can straightly choose what type of post we would like to
use.
 - There is Message Board Setting for number of item per page, open
link window, sorting mode, view mode, next page on the bottom,
subscribe-pin-block button & hide mini-profile.
-
 - And Custom Filter.
- We can hide a post from our message board completely. In fact
I would prefer if it could work like others RSS readers. Mark them read or
unread. Filter only unread, sort of that. And when a post got replied it
mark as unread again.
- Pin a post to the top most of the list.
- Subscribe to a post for email alert. Previously we have to make
reply to get a n email notification.
- Hide messages from your message board. As said above.
-
 - general layout was not really change I said. Format is different.
- Photo’s now integrated in My multiply. Showing total number of
the photos as well.
- All-in-one Ajaxified photo uploader/album editor.
- Simplified layout, featuring new navigation links at the top
of every page.
- Streamlined settings page.
- "My Network" page, showing you precisely who's whom.
- Dragable (and dropable) video page featuring for quick
re-ordering. Like in photo album.
- Even more customizable homepage (hide unwanted boxes!). Unhide
option can be found under your avatar (right-top). Not much change in here
actually. They just put a link to customizable group.
I think MP 3.0 is cool.
