Untuk kelurga office 2003 yang lain (word, excel, powerpoint). Help file microsoft ada banyak peningkatan di banding versi 2000. Hampir sebagian besar search yang dilakukan bisa di ketemukan dengan cepat. Tapi tidak demikian dengan MS Access, help filenya masih se-ribet dulu.

Coba bikit qery by form. Nyari informasi ini pun baru dapet di internet. Harus set suatu variable as database dulu. Setelah di coba ada error, ""variable not defined"". Ubek-ubek help file sampe pusing - ga dapet. Baru dapet di internet juga - setelah search error syntax-nya, ternyata bukan masalah variable, tapi ADO nya harus dipasang dulu. Main di MS SQL pun help filenya cukup membingungkan. Ternyata standardnya tidak sama.

With follow up flags we can flagged an email with certain flag colour representing certain action required. Outlook give 6 different color flag. So, it depend to us how many & for what purpose we want to use those flags. Try not to use too many flag, cause that hard to remember. For example Red for need-action, blue for review/read and yellow for follow-up. So, when reviewing your emails, remember GTD (get things done) rule & apply flags:

• first ask what is this?
• If that not actionable, choose:
  • delete
  • read detail in more appropriate time (after lunch / after noon) - long read & need time to digest (use blue flag (review))
  • keep it as your wish list (someday/maybe)
  • file that as referees
• If that actionable, review that referring to your current project plans:
  • If that required less than 2 minutes to finish ... Just Do It!
  • else,
    • delegate to someone else & do follow up if necessary (use yellow flag (follow-up))
    • Put in your calendar if that related to specific date
    • put in your action list (to do as soon as you can) (use read flag - (need action))

You can create customized tool bars & assign shortcut key to make email flagging easier.
You can review emails with flag easier by using search-folder feature (explain it later).

One good things from Outlook is its smart date & time recognition.
For date and time field, yes you can click on drop-down selector to choose your data.
But to speed up data-entry, you can also type like this "14 dec", "dec 14", "next monday", "tomorrow", "last friday dec", "second mon in jan", Outlook will convert it to correct date.
Same case for time, you can type "8am", "20" (for 8pm), "1030a" (for 10:30AM).

Pathsync - syncronizing files & folders
Portable freeware yang bisa melakukan sinkronisasi folder & file antara lain PATHSYNC.

• Pada dasarnya kita memasukan lokasi dari dua folder (source & remote) yang akan di sinkronisasi, lalu eksekusi. Isi sub folder akan ikut di periksa.

• Program akan mengurutkan daftar file yang berbeda dari ke dua folder tersebut berikut statusnya (hanya ada di source, hanya ada di remote, beda size).

• Kemudian kita bisa menyorot beberapa file atau satu per satu, klik kanan dan menentukan action apa yang diperlukan (copy dari source ke remote, vise ver versa, no action).

• Setelah menentukan action untuk semua file, kita eksekusi lagi untuk menjalankan perubahan yang diinginkan.

• Untuk proses back up sebaiknya dipilih option yang "local --> Remote" kalo ingin juga menghapus file yang sudah tidak ada di source tapi masih ada di remote.

Yang menarik:

• Interfacenya yang mudah.

• Ukuran program kecil.

• Kita bisa mengetahui status dari setiap file yang berbeda.

• Kemudahan meng-kustomisasi action yang diperlukan

• Setting bisa di save dan di load kapan saja, berguna untuk beberapa job yang berbeda.

Pilihan (freeware) lainnya:

• DSynchronize. Yang ini inferface agak rumit. Jangan lupa meng-aktif-kan mode preview dulu, jika tidak program akan langsung melakukan sikronisasi.

• Karen Replicator. List file yang berubah tidak bisa diketahui. Punya scheduler untuk otomatisasi.

• Windiff. Ini bawaan dari windows. Tapi hanya bisa analisa struktur.
